Dr. Brian David Phillips discusses the question of CAN ONE USE HYPNOSIS TO CREATE DMT OR AYAHUASCHA OR OTHER PSYCHEDELIC EXPERIENCES? and the short answer is YES!

Short answer, yes. Less short answer, yes but is you are interested in shamanic experiences, you want to make sure your suggestion process includes the non-recreational effects you are working toward. Don’t just say LSD or DMT or Ayahuasca, note the sort of generalized effects you are after.

I would STRONGLY suggest including POSITIVE RIDER SUGGESTIONS in the process that steers the “trip” toward a good trip rather than a bad one (that doesn’t mean “don’t have a bad trip” it means “your unconscious drives you toward an experience that is positive for you with beneficial and safe learnings” and the like – move toward positive experiences rather than away from negative ones – see the video for more guidance).

While I’ve not seen any direct experiments on the body producing DMT chemical effects after hypnosis, I do know of some drug trials – particularly with morphine – that showed the markers after hypnosis (with folks who had previous exposure to the actual drug, that is).

However, as long as you’re getting the appropriate effect, the actual drug composition is less important.

The long answer is a bit more complicated but essentially, experiential trance such as hypnosis can be used to guide a person into a psychedelic experience for recreational, therapeutic, or spiritual purposes. In fact, psychological psychedelic experiences are an excellent alternative for those who live in places where psychedelic substances are illegal, although there are other positive reasons for such an approach as well.
