In the first video here, Krystle Cole of Neurosoup discuss the four stages of the LSD experience. LSD is also known as lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD-25, or acid. LSD trips usually last for around 12 hours. Still, this can be divided into several unique stages because of the distinctive effects. It is important to have knowledge of these different aspects of the LSD experience in order to reduce the harm that could potentially come from using LSD.

The purpose of this video is harm reduction and education. It is not intended to promote the use of illegal, quasi-legal, or legal drugs.

Additionally, Cole discusses three philosophical views of what’s happening during the psychedelic experience. Plus, she shares her integrative perspective.

In addition to these short talks, I would suggest interested readers check out THE PSYCHEDELIC EXPERIENCE by Timothy Leary in which Leary postulates a structure of the LSD experience as based upon the Tibetan Book of the Dead. The Cole videos are less metaphysical and therefore a bit more informative but since I’ve an interest in mythic structure and criticism, I found the Leary material of more longterm philosophical grounding, particularly since I used it as a basis for a project in which I set out to recreate the experience via non-LSD trancework – essentially a series of hypnotic sessions that created the same Bardo experiences that Leary engaged within via LSD.
